Works with KVM and Win7 August 6, 2010 Will Thompson (Little Rock, AR) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried multiple converters to get my new Windows 7 PC to work with my KVM switch. The switch only had PS/2 cables and the PC only had USB. This worked great out of the box. No software install was needed. The extra buttons on my Microsoft trackball even work properly.
Sooo Glad I got this! July 29, 2010 T. A. McKinney (UTAH) I just purchased a brand new Computer from Amazon... and while it is great and all I do not like the keyboard... It reminds me of a laptop keyboard, and I don't like laptops.... Soooo, I thought... I Could use my old keyboard...I love that keyboard... :) and come to find out it doesn't support a USB its' a PS/2... So after some searching I found this one here on Amazon and ordered it right away... I got it today and I'm soooo happy to say I'm typing this review with my Old Keyboard! I was also able to switch my mouse as well, and they are both running great..... Sooo Yes I'm glad I got this! If your not sure if this cable will work... it does! and it works great! :)
Well... July 4, 2010 Jonathan (New Jersey, USA) Bought this product for connecting a PS/2 keyboard and Wii gamesystem several weeks ago. Sometimes works sometimes not. Don't know why but if you disconnect it and then re-plug back, it goes back to work. Anyway it is annoying. I haven't tried to use it on computer. I am not happy with it and won't recommend it to anyone.
Does what it's supposed to. June 21, 2010 D. Richards I bought this to hang on my test bench KVM for the newer machines that lack the old PS/2 connectors.
[And for those tempermental Gateways and Dells that get confused when you reboot or switch the KVM]
Simply put, it works great. What more can be said?
I can't remember ever having a problem with any StarTech product, and this lives up to that reputation.
I'd certainly recommend it.
Finally a USB to PS2 adapter that works March 15, 2010 Ron Walsh (West Palm Beach, Fl) I have an older Microsoft keyboard that I prefer to the ones that we have at work. I have tried several adapters that claimed to convert the PS2 keyboards and mouse to USB, but all of the "inexpensive" ones failed miserably. This adapter worked right away, without any issues or problems.
I know there are cheaper converters out there, but this is by far the best value for the money.
